The history of Tallinn College of TUT begins from 22 April 1997, when the Council of Tallinn University of Technology (at the time called Tallinn Technical University) decided to unite Tallinn Commercial School, which expressed a wish for it in a while.
The new school was named
Business College of Tallinn Technical University and it started the activity on 1st of September 1997. In the first year the studies were based on Tallinn Commercial School's curriculum Business Administration. At the same time the new study programmes were developed and approved:
1998 - International Economics and Business Administration
1999 - Accounting
Both of the programmes have got a full accreditation by the International Accreditation Committee.
In the year 2000 distance learning was introduced.
The Joint Declaration of the European Ministers of Education was signed in Bologna on June 19, 1999. In accordance with the Bologna Declaration the available study programmes were modified and comformed to the international requirements. Also some new ones were prepared and approved:
2002 - International Economics and Business Administration
2002 - Accounting
2003 - Real Estate Administration
2005 - Business Law
The curricula's accreditation procedures have been successful.
Since 1 September 2004 the College goes by the name of
Tallinn College of Tallinn University of Technology. The College continues to provide and develop applied higher education on following fields: social sciences, business, law, technology, production, construction and service.
